Ben and Jean-Luca agree: working at kolb Cleaning Technology “is simply fun”.
The two 9c pupils from Leonardo da Vinci Comprehensive School have completed a three-week internship at our Headquarter. They are getting to know four professions in the company: Mechanic, electrician, plastics and rubber technologist and warehouse logistics specialist.
Jean-Luca is was most enthusiastic about electrical work, while Ben liked the mechanical tasks best.
“It's physically demanding, but in a good way. Unlike computer science, for example, you actually have a result in your hands at the end,” says the 14-year-old enthusiastically. Both can even imagine a future in the skilled crafts sector.
The pupils' internship is based on a collaboration between the Leonardo da Vinci comprehensive school and kolb Cleaning Technology.
In October 2024, representatives of the school and the “Mittlerer Niederrhein Chamber of Industry and Commerce” met with the company's management to sign a cooperation agreement.
The aim of the collaboration is to provide young people with practical insights into the world of work and support them in their professional orientation. To this end, kolb actively participates in advice days at schools, organizes company tours and regularly offers internships for school pupils.
Both sides are certain that the cooperation offers the young students a great opportunity to gain practical experience and insights into the world of work. The exchange with the company's trainees is particularly valuable as it takes place at eye level.
kolb is thus investing in the promotion of young talent in the region.
“We see it as our responsibility to promote young talent and pave the way for a successful professional future. And, of course, we also hope to find our skilled workers of tomorrow this way,” explains Christin Lökes, HR Manager at kolb.
